Große Gewächse

The greatest pleasure of the best vineyards

The "Große Lagen" of the Mosel enjoy a unique reputation worldwide. Here, top-class growths thrive that are among the finest in the world. While in the past this praise was reserved almost exclusively for the residually sweet specialties, today people are also aware of the quality of the dry wines from the resounding slate steep slopes. Special care and precise selection are necessary, because only the perfectly ripened fruit can be used for these wines. Thanks to their richness in mineral extracts and their dense fruit, these icons from our best parcels of the most renowned Große Lagen are always a delight. Since they are precisely our best plots, the wines also proudly bear the name as an addition, thus announcing their special origin.

Scharzhofberger

"Mittlerer Josef"

Riesling trocken GROSSES GEWÄCHS

Extremely strong in character: clear and precise with brilliant fruit, this Grosse Gewächs from the legendary Scharzhofberg in the Saar presents itself. Ripe exotic fruits combined with a concise smokiness complete this extract-rich highly elegant Riesling. The cool and precise style of this terroir-driven wine is in harmony with its fine acidity and ends in a long finish that lets you sense its great potential.

Kanzemer Altenberg

"Hinter'm weißen Kelterhaus"

Riesling trocken GROSSES GEWÄCHS

Character par excellence: the uniqueness of the Kanzemer Altenberg comes through clearly in this Grosses Gewächs; a distinct terroir wine, characterized by slate, with a complex variety of aromas on the nose. Fruit intensity meets flint. This Saar icon is perfectly supported by its structure, making it elegant, fresh and harmonious. The dry Riesling ends in a long salty finish.

Trittenheimer Apotheke

"Fusswingert"

Riesling trocken GROSSES GEWÄCHS

Intense, extract-rich Großes Gewächs from the Mosel: mineral-herbal on the nose with expressive aromas of peaches and white fruits that highlight the typical character of this special site. It convinces with its subtle finesse with pressure on the palate and a long finish. A great wine that can inspire! It brings tremendous aromatics and fine minerality, is racy and intense at the same time.

Kanzemer Altenberg

"Im Wolfsberg"

Pinot Noir trocken GROSSES GEWÄCHS

Burgundy at its best: an elegant Pinot Noir from the Kanzemer Altenberg on the slopes of the Saar. Despite its volume, it is velvety smooth and full-bodied on the palate. Aromas of church, pepper, violets and dark chocolate combine on the nose. The deep Burgundy from the Wolfsberg convinces with a long finish and an extremely exciting tannic structure of maturity and finesse.
