Graacher Domprobst
Designated and exclusive plot
This vineyard is one of the best that the slopes of the Middle Mosel have to offer. The Graacher Domprobst is the designated and exclusive plot of the Graach sites - enclosed by the Himmelreich. Several centuries ago, it was known that this site produced first-rate wines, hence its name: the interest collected on the best vineyards of the Mosel served to feed the coffers of the provost of the cathedral of Trier.
The very steep dry slope faces southwest - well protected from wind and frost. In the airy heights, large blocks of slate are found in the soil, which is always deep, clayey and solid; innumerable stones and river pebbles are sunk into it. The Devonian slate gets its color from iron inclusions and produces complex wines with strong aromas - lemon, herbs, stone fruits, as well as herbal earth notes and a mineral structure. Dompropst Rieslings are suitable for mature and finishing years.
